Would you like to help OLC in some way? Do you like interacting with people and have a few hours to help spread the word about OLC? If so, then we would love for you to consider representing OLC at one of our many tabling events here in our community. Events such as Earth Day and the annual Outdoor Expo provide OLC with an opportunity to become better known to the public. I am creating a list of volunteers who would like to sit at the OLC table at events to provide OLC materials and talk to interested people who stop by.
Is this a huge commitment? No! Even just a few hours once a year would be a tremendous help. Of course, if you are able and willing to do more, that would be greatly appreciated! Set up is not required, and you just need to be at the OLC table and talk to people.
If you are interested, email me at dsobieski@ouabachelandconservancy.org and say you would like to help OLC at tabling events. You will receive periodic emails from me when an OLC tabling opportunity arises.
If you would rather spend time outside working on maintaining our nature preserves (using loppers, removing branches from the trails, etc.), indicate your preference in an email, and I will put you on the property stewardship list. Maybe you want to help with both!
I am happy to answer your questions. Representing OLC at events is fun, you'll meet some terrific like-minded people, and it's a great way to have a positive impact in our community.
